There are many wine festivals, but more in central Germany. Maybe you mean Oktoberfest in Munich?... it's actually a bit later in September.
I'd love to do a meet in Augsburg myself, we love any excuse to visit there, since we lived there before.
.. or we can do another Heidelberg meet...

Otherwise, I live in Heidelberg, if you're in my town, give me a call !
